The Lake Nona Wave Hotel incorporates the latest technological advancements in the guest experience to create the ultimate addition to Tavistock’s Lake Nona Town Center Development. The mixed-use planned community Lake Nona, named the “smart city with soul,” brings together technology and luxury lifestyle, with the hotel at its epicenter. The state-of-the-art, boutique hotel features 234 high-tech guest rooms with integrated smart room controls for lights, shades, AV, thermostats and televisions with touchscreen tablet and voice activation, wifi6, smart toilets, housekeeping robots and keyless entry systems. A grand stair lobby, signature restaurant, ballrooms, meeting spaces, bar and a rooftop pool deck deliver additional amenities that round out the experience for the “most technologically advanced hotel on the planet,” as touted by Travel + Leisure Magazine. Inspired by the visual of a wavelength of energy, the hotel exterior features a dynamic, glazed, 16-story twisting curtainwall window façade. This distinctive feature changes the tint of the glass depending on the sun’s location to minimize glare and maximize energy efficiency. Utilizing lighting design to highlight the latest technology advances in hospitality Lighting design plays a fundamental role in the overall guest experience throughout the hotel. Cutting-edge LED luminaries and lighting controls are utilized throughout the property, including UVC 222nm lighting for sanitizing back-of-house areas and an iconic kinetic chandelier over the check in area of the lobby. EXP specified a dynamic LED linear luminaire that brilliantly outlines the organic shape of the hotel and emphasizes the wave form façade in the night skyline.
